City of Sydney pledged support to MOCA

MOCA's future at 744 George Street is assured following a resounding $7.5 MILLION show of support from the City of Sydney

MOCA's board and staff are delighted to share that The City of Sydney has signalled its ongoing commitment to MOCA's establishment as a world-class arts and cultural institution with the news that it will subsidise 100% of the Museum's rent for the remaining two years of its lease. 

The decision was carried unanimously, and the Council also approved an additional 5+5 year lease commencing April 2026, generously granting MOCA the commercial equivalent of approximately $7.5 million in rental subsidy over the next 12 years.
